
Route to food is a group that cares for the people of their country. They are on an initiative to realize human right to food in Kenya. This alliance is highly focused towards their goal. Many citizen of Kenya that includes farmers, pastoralists and fishers, that are living in both urban and rural areas, irrelevant of age, suffer from routine hunger and inability to get the right amount of food. These people are supposed to be the part of solutions for the motive to eradicate chronic food insecurity from the country.
Route to food is working hard for human right to food in Kenya. There are many structural and technical reasons responsible for the food insecurity. Some of these problems include constraint faced by the female and the virtue of gender, access to land and the growing threat of the real estate development etc. Limited post harvest management services and large amount of food wastage is also a crucial cause. Chronic hunger is also the resultant of weak coordination and collaboration between the central government and nations.
This group offers everyone an opportunity to be a part of this initiative human right to food in Kenya. Poor transport infrastructure plays a major role in this issue. Low state investment into requirement driven research and extension facilities leads to food insecurity. Less irrigation and over reliance on rain fed agriculture creates chronic hunger. Technical causes include reliance on chemical fertilizers.
